Yet once again, the wrongfully incarcerated have been highlighted in the media. Roberto Miranda's wrongful conviction of a murder he didn't commit nearly cost his life. After petitioning the state, an attorney finally picked up his case and began grinding out endless pleadings to set Roberto free. After 14 years on death row, he finally walked out of prison a free man. The judge never exonerated Roberto. The result of this case was a dozen new laws put into place that would insure this would never happen again. A lot of people were stinging from their inept work on this case. So much so that when the author was interviewed with Public Radio, the interview was never played, too many humiliations on our public servants. A must read.
